Church Home:
One church. Different expressions.

Since the beginning of our journey, we have tried our best to communicate that although we are one church, there are different expressions. In other words, in addition to “traditional” Sunday gatherings, we had:

  • Participate Sundays, where we built hygiene kits, tables, dressers…

  • Hosted a joint, Good Friday service and…

  • Gathered with other, like-minded churches for a Sunday picnic.

And on Sunday (9/17), we are offering the fourth iteration of a new expression of what it means to be the church in community.

Below are a few FAQs for Church Home.

What is the new expression?
Instead of gathering in a church building where we sit in half circles, we will be scattering into specific living rooms (or a local park!), where we will not only talk about Jesus, but where we will share a table with food, and slow down for meaningful relationships.

What are the houses I can attend?
We will be meeting at two different locations. Make sure to contact us, as we are in a new location in Bolingbrook and Oswego.

What can I expect?
We will have food, build meaningful relationships, and have a conversation around the topic of building deep relationships.

Are kid’s welcome?
Absolutely.

What if I don’t have kids?
We believe that you add tremendous value to family systems. To that end, we desire to utilize Church Homes as a platform to integrate and model intergenerational relationships. In simple terms, we would love to see you support and help out our parents during kid’s time!

Is breakfast provided?
Yes. We will have a full breakfast (e.g., pancakes, eggs, potatoes, bacon/sausage, coffee/juice).

How much does Church Home cost?
There is no cost.

What time are we meeting?
Breakfast starts at 10am!

Where can I get the address?
As we will be meeting in team member’s home, please message us at info@168cc.org. You will receive the address within the day.

Anything I need to bring?
Invite a friend along!

Any advice?
Depending on your wiring, “new expressions” can bring up new nerves. But, without minimizing those nerves, we want you to hear that (with as much love as possible)… your voice and presence matters. And the day will not be the same without you. Try your best to be there if you can! 😊
